The Cardinals return 6 of top 7. Stephanie Braun had mono last fall and has recovered throughout 2011 and should be back to full strength. BrittanyTrahan does not run track but is back and all other girls made significant improvements in track, notably Julia Warren down to a 18:12 5k and 38:04 10k, Kelley Driscoll 37:58 10k and Colleen Coon 38:20 10k, Colleen Cotey 11:23 in steeple after no running during indoor season. Our top 7 should be very solid and a pretty tight pack. We also hope to have Amanda Schermerhorn (4:41 1500), Boncore (4:58 1500) make an impact.

St. Lawrence

The Saints return 5 of the top 7 and might have some growing pains as they enter the post Wendy Pavlus era. They have a couple of key returnees back and a few newcomers who could may an immediate impact so they should compete for an NCAA berth again in November. Their success this fall is largely going to depend on the development of their 1st and 2nd year runners, many of whom we’ll need Junior and Senior efforts from if we’re going to be successful. Key returners: Jenna Hulton, Amanda Moreland, Amy Cymerman, Jackie Lemme and Kelsey Leder. McKayla Nuffer our #6 from two years ago is back and healthy this fall so she’ll add to the top 5 mix right away. Top Newcomers: Megan Hulton from East Aurora is the #1 first year runner followed by Anna Rabideau(Seton Catholic) and Deidra Beller (Beaver River).

The Brewers return 5 of top 7 from regionals last year, and we have 7 freshman coming in. Several of those newcomers definitely could be immediate impact runners, but we'll see how they adjust. A few have some lingering high school strains/injuries, so we won't know how much of an impact they will be this season until they are here. Key returning runners include Junior National 5K qualifier Aubree Peipmeier, NCAA XC individual qualifier Elizabeth Forbes (JYA spring semester), ECAC steeplechaser Chloe Williams, and NCAA 800m provisional qualifier Kelly Holmes.

7

TCNJ

8th

The Lions should be significantly improved from last year despite #1 from last fall, Claire Johnson is studying abroad. Incoming class is stronger than they have had in years, and is led by a very solid DI transfer who should make an immediate impact. Five freshmen also join the team that have run 2:20/5:20 or better. Improvements since last years XC season: Katie Nestor had an off season last fall (not in the top 7) but is healthy and should contribute after running on their NCAA DMR in the winter and 4:38 1500 last spring. Angii Alabanza (4:48 1500), Alyssa Bannon (4:37 1500/2:58 1k), Rachel Morris (17:54/38:07), Cathy Goncalves (18:26/10:39 3k), and Danielle Aran (18:38 5k/10:35 3k) will lead the way.
