SUNY Geneseo

9th at NCAA’s

Geneseo returns 5 of the top 7 from the Atlantic Region Championship team in 2006. Expect some younger Blue Knights to step up and continue the tradition.

(TCNJ)

22nd at NCAA’s

TCNJ also graduated 2 of their top 7. The returners had some significant improvements during the track season and add in a few new faces, the Lions will look to challenge for the top spot in the region.

SUNY Plattsburgh

29th at NCAAs

The John Lynch led Cardinals look to be improved over the 2006 team that placed 4th at regionals. The loss of Alyssa Recny is countered by the return of Allison Busby and should give Plattsburgh a great 1-2 punch. Also look for a couple new freshmen to contribute.

Ithaca College

21st at NCAA’s

The Ithaca College Bombers return 5 of their top 7. Coach Ware always seems to get his team ready to perform when it counts and this year should be no different.

SUNY Cortland

The Red Dragons lose their top runner, Rachel Sweet. However, Erin McGrath showed great improvement during the spring, as did several others. Several new faces will look to contribute as the season progresses.

SUNY Fredonia

Four of the top 7 will return for the Blue Devils, including Jessica Bennett. New faces will be relied upon to fill the spots left by their 3 graduates.

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) The RIT Tigers return 3 of their top 7 runners from the 6th place team in 2006. Individual national qualifier Adrienne Gagnier will led a team of young, but talented runners.

St. Lawrence The Saints graduate 5 of their top 7 and will heavily rely on returners Liz Ludovici, Johannah Ludington and Chelsea Nuffer. The addition of Wendy Pavlus will give SLU four strong individuals.
Correction: I overlooked an individual from Coach Lyndaker's report. If I hadn't, I would have placed SLU higher in the rankings.

8 SUNY Brockport Brockport graduated their top 3 runners from the 8th place team in 2006. Without a definite front runner, the Golden Eagles will look to rely on their pack to led the way.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Technology (RPI) No report, however the Engineers return 5 of their top 7. The team will be young, but don't be suprised to see them improve throughout the season.

    Other Teams to Watch

  • Univ. of Rochester - Return 7 of top 10. Many had successful track seasons.
  • Hamilton - Return entire top 7 and have added some talented new faces.
  • Vassar - Return 5 of top 7 and add 6 new faces who will look to make an immediate impact.
  • Nazareth - Return entire top 7 and add a few that will look to break into the top 7.

2nd at NCAA’s

The Violets return 13 of their top 14 and also add a few talented freshmen. Don't be suprised if they perform even better than last year's team.

4th at NCAA’s

Cortland's only loss is Andy Cloke from last year's 4th place team at nationals. The team is young, but experienced and should continue to improve with the addition of some new faces.

TCNJ returns 6 of their top 7 and add two very talented freshmen. They have been very consistent each year and always know how to race well when it matters most.

Coach Woods loses two key leaders from last year's 14th place team at nationals, but adds several talented freshmen who will look to make an immediate impact.

University of Rochester (UR)
The Yellowjackets return 6 of their top 7 runners from last year's th place team at the Regional Meet. Four seniors will lead a well balanced squad of 27 runners that includes a strong 14 man freshmen class.  The Jackets enter the season with high goals and expect to contend for a spot at the National NCAA Meet.

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT)

19th at NCAA’s

No report. The Tigers lose 3 of their top 7, including top 2 to graduation. Look for some younger runners to step up and make a run at nationals again.

The Saints return 7 of their to 8, but add one of the best freshmen classes in many years. Look for the new faces to make an immediate impact.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Technology (RPI)
No report. Return 6 of top 7 from the successful 8th place team in 2006. Look for the team to continue to improve thoughout the season.

Return 5 of top 7 from last year, but lose top 2. Several freshmen and a talented transfer will look to fight for the teams top spot.

Return 4 of top 7 from last years 7th place team. Several freshmen will look to challenge for the top 7 spots.

  • SUNY Brockport (10th) - Return 4 of top 7. A few new and returning faces will need to make an immediate impact.
  • Rowan - Return 6 of top 7, but lose top runner from 12th place 2006 team.
  • Vassar - Return 5 of top 7, including Colin Sanders. Add a few new faces and this team has the potential to finish in the top 10.
  • Nazareth - Return 4 of from the 14th place team in 2006. A couple talented freshmen and a transfer will look to make an immediate impact.
