• Jun 2015: I spoke on Knots and Computing at the Tel Aviv University Computer Science Colloquium.
• Jan 2015: I created a pair of Geometry and Topology Today videos discussing my mathematics for a general audience and for graduate students together with Scott Baldridge and David Shea Vela Vick.
• Oct 2014: I co-organized the Stochastic and Applied Topology Seminar for our research group.
• Jul 2014: I spoke on arrangements and matroids at the Cal State U. Fresno Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) while visiting for a week.
• Jan 2012: I co-organized the first ever Baton Rouge Young Topologists Research Retreat with Kate Kearney at LSU in January 2012.

Employment History

• Aug 2016: I have started a Visiting Assistant Professor position at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, USA. I will be updating my website and my email address this summer.
• Oct 2014: I finished a two-year position as a European Commission Senior Researcher under Robert Adler of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
• Sept 2014: I finished a postdoctoral research position under Misha Polyak in Haifa, Israel at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
• Sept 2013: After three years, I finished my postdoctoral research position under Mina Teicher with the Emmy Noether Mathematical Institute at Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan, Israel outside of Tel Aviv.

Research Interests include

• Knots: Knot polynomials, knot homology theories, and other knot invariants
• Random topological objects: Application of the probabilistic method to knot theory specifically
• Graphs: Dimers or perfect matchings on graphs, and other topics in matroid theory, graph theory, and enumerative combinatorics
• Arrangements: Arrangements of hyperplanes and other configurations, as well as other topics in oriented matroid theory
• Low-dimensional as well as combinatorial topology

Some citations

• My papers (2+6) on the balanced overlaid Tait graph serve as references for an undergraduate summer project on virtual knots under Sergei Chmutov at Ohio State University.
• My dissertation served as reference for some talks of the "Low dimensional topology and knot theory seminar" by Dimos Goundaroulis, School of Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences, National Technical University of Athens.
• My dissertation was part of the required reading for the grad students in the LSU topology group's Vertically Integrated Research course for Fall 2011.
• The Pacific Coast Undergraduate Mathematics Conference featured my two Math Horizons articles on Math Clubs.

• I have taken many graduate-level seminar courses in various other areas. Here is a complete list of specialty seminar courses taken.
• As a graduate student my adviser was Oliver Dasbach, and I was active in the Topology Group in the Mathematics Department of Louisiana State University.
• According to my math genealogy, I am a great great great great grandson of Hilbert and thus a descendent of many other great mathematicians. One can find them in an example poster given by the Mathematics Genealogy Project by ignoring the last six lines (and some higher levels on the right) of the Personal genealogy of Richard Chatham.
