The purpose of this website:

Encourage all members of the local community to explore the wetland along the Priscilla Bullitt Collins Trail and familiarize themselves with plant and animal inhabitants.

Promote the conservation of wetlands.

Educate on the importance of conserving wetlands and current management efforts.

Provide an information base for students, faculty, and community members wishing to learn more about land management, environmental concerns, and biological diversity on Vassar's campus.

Advertise the existence of biodiversity in New York.

Promote a general sense of awe for our natural surroundings.

Vassar College Campus Map: The 4-acre wetland area studied is highlighted in orange, just above (east) of Skinner Hall, labelled by the red #10. The Priscilla Bullitt Collins Trail, built in 1995, is a boardwalk that winds through the wetland.
