The Jewish Jesus and the Christian Moses: Dialogue between Jews & Christians in Art

Jews in Christian art do not only appear as enemies, but also as patriarchs, prophets, neutral and positive figures. While sympathetic portrayals of Abraham or Joseph are easy to understand, what are we to make of Jesus wearing a Jewish hat in the St. Louis Psalter? And how should we understand the fascination in Jewish art of the modern period with the figure of Jesus as a Jew?
