These recommended books are available in the Sociology Department's permanent reserve list of books for Sociology 151. They provide useful historical context and theoretical elaboration for the ideas we discuss in class. If you feel unsure of your grasp of the course materials, be sure to look at the chapters I have recommended in the course schedule.
